Within each of us lies a river of energy and light, enlivening us on our path. Imagine two strands of silken thread, entwining as they softly pulsate up and down our spine, sending soft light streaming through our being. One strand is our body, the manifestation of who we are in the material world. The other strand is our spirit, our innate connection to the divine.
This is one way of experiencing Hridaya, our heart’s essence. Loosely translated as “the middle of the middle” Hridaya is visualized as flowing along the midline of the spine, and is the delicate, delicious interplay of our awareness of ourselves as individuals and as deeply connected beings in an exquisitely interconnected Universe.
As householders and firekeepers of our own heart’s journey, we strive to live in deep relationship with Hridaya. It is one of the pathways to moksha, freedom from suffering from the illusion that we are separate from the divine.
Heart-Centered Yoga is an invitation to live within the subtle currents of Hridaya. Through movement, breathwork, bija (seed sound) chanting, and community, we “tune our antennae” to pick up the currents of the song that is singing us all the time.
Join us every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:05p – 12:55p for Heart-Centered Yoga at Gentle Healing Yoga downtown!
Playfully you hid from me.
All day I looked.
Then I discovered
I was you,
and the celebration
of That began.
